My Name is Balram

I've been playing the Mridanga for over 12 years now. Growing up in a small temple community in England, there were only a few people knew how to play the Mridanga — one of them was my father. When I first began learning, I sought guidance from anyone I could, piecing together knowledge through years of practice and reflection. Over time, I realised the Mridanga isn’t just an instrument but a sacred art of devotion. Having experienced how hard it can be to learn without guidance, I created The Mridanga Circle — a course and community to make that journey easier, sharing both the rhythm and the deeper spirit of this divine art.
